Dangerous Job (Q3)

Riding for the Pony Express was one of the most dangerous jobs of the time, especially for someone your age. What do you think is the most dangerous job today (regardless of age)? Why?

I think that the most dangerous job nowadays no matter what your age is would be to fight in the military. I say this because you never know when you could be shot or bombed. You could die at any time of the day. Anything could happen, you just never really know. 57.4 million people die a year in the military. That is why i think that the most dangerous job someone could have no matter how old you are would be the military.

The hardest, most dangerous job, today, i think would be if you worked as an undercover police officer. You would never know what you are getting yourself into. And being that, you would be always living a risk, a risk of being caught and killed. Or, not even knowing what to do if you ever get into that situation.

I believe that the most dangerous job that you could do today would be to join the marines, air-force, or navy. Your job is mainly to go into foreign countries and fight for their people. You may or may not speak their language. You may not even know anything about the country. But regardless, you are going to fight for it. They could see you as good and helpful and welcome you with gratefulness when you get there. They could see you as a lethal threat and welcome you with bombs. That's a risk you'd be taking every day.

I think the most dangerous job today is in the military. I think it is most dangerous when you're in the field because you are in danger at all times and you have to know everything that is happening around you.

I think the most dangerous job today is to be a crab fishermen because of the harsh conditions that you have to work in.

I think the most dangerous job today would be flying an airplane. When you are in a plane, you are at risk of any type of weather and one little mistake landing could equal a catastrophic disaster. If you don't pay attention, you could also crash.

I believe the most dangerous job today would be being a fisherman. I'm sure when many people thing of someone fishing, they think of an old man sitting peacefully on the edge of a stream in an old fisherman hat. But fishing is not just a hobby to pass the time. For many, fishing is a way of life, a way to pay the bills and support a family. These fishermen are in their boats and risk drowning daily, and if they are out in a storm, a shipreck. I read somewhere that fishing is in the top 5 of the most dangerous jobs, according to annual statistics. Fishing is a dangerous job with many risks, which is why i think it is one of the most dangerous jobs out there.

I think the most dangerous job today would be anything in law enforcement. This would be jobs like police, CIA, FBI, and others. The people with these jobs deal with dangerous people everyday, and it is very unpredictable. The Military is also very dangerous.

I think the most dangerous job today, would be working in the military. Working in the military is a dangerous job for anyone of all ages, because you have to be alarmed of everything around you that is going on and sometimes what you think is going on, isn't always true, as you could easily be suprised by a bomb, gun- shot ,attackers, etc. This job means a lot to me because I have over three cousins fighting in different jobs in the mititary, right now. So, this is definately the most dangerous job, these days as you are risking your life every single day and night for your country!

I think there are many dangerous jobs. The most dangerous job to me would have to be Military, Air force, or working in the Navy.
I think this because you are risking your life in battle daily. You’re mostly in foreign countries that you don't want to be in and they don't want you there. Millions of people die yearly working in the Military, Navy, or Air force. This why i think the most dangerous job to have is working in the Military, Air force, or Navy.

In my opinion this is a great question. Next I'll even give my opinion on the hardest job. First though, to me the most dangerous job is being the
President of the United States. If something goes wrong in the country, rebels, civil war, any war at all, they all look at you with hope and trust, or through a rifle scope. With the "economy failing" or whatever I would definitely says it's the most dangerous. Now in my opinion the hardest job, is being a father. Just to be clear the part about being the President, answers the original question.

I think that the most dangerous job to have today is to be a King Crab fisherman. You may not be out there everyday, but when you're out there it is brutal. King Crab fishing takes place during the later fall/earlier winter time frame so it's freezing, especially when a wave comes up over the ship and you get covered in sea water. Also, up in the Bering Sea, you can get a lot of huge storms that make huge waves. These waves, if you're not ready, can sweep you off the ship. I've just given a few examples of how bad the conditions are when you're out fishing for King Crab, but trust me, it gets much worse.

The most dangerous job in the day of today is, wait for it! To be one of those people who test new drugs. I mean you have no idea what's in them, you don't know the side effects of taking it, you have no idea if it's actually legal some of the time, and since the drug is experimental even if you do go through a horrible time and maybe even die by testing it; the drug could not be approved by the FDA and then all that you did would be in vain. Isn't that a terrible job?

I think the most dangerous job today is being one of the workers cleaning up the nuclear reactor meltdown in Japan. The reason it is so dangerous is because the radiation is so high that they will most likely die soon. They are sacrificing their lives so that others can live safely.

Evan S. said...

I would have to say one of the most dangerous jobs now would be those to man fishing ships. (ex. Deadliest Catch) Those guys are out there in the middle of the sea, in the dark, in a storm, and amongst giant machinery with ropes and cages that can drag you off the boat or knock you out. But they get paid pretty well if they are successful, so some crazy people agree to face the rough conditions.

Cole G. said...

I think the most dangerous job would be a person who is in the army. There is just so many ways to die in the army and there are tons of people that die every year. You could also get sick many different ways and that makes it very dangerous.

Jack S. said...

I think the most dangerous jobs today is logging. I think this because they always opperate around chainsaws, falling trees, large machinery, and rivers. Also they work in the middle of nowhere with little medical help or hospitals.

I think that the most dangerous job today for any age is law enforcement and military government. The people that work in these fields put their lives in danger every day. NO matter what they do there is always some danger in it. Not only do they keep themselves alive they keep every other American safe too. This job is necessary but one of the most dangerous ones of this time.

Today, I think that one of the most dangerous jobs would be a firefighter. I think this because well think about it, you are constantly around fire. Not only are you around it but are also in it sometimes. While trying to save others lives, you never know when something will go wrong and the next thing you know it's your life that is being saved. Also, your constantly on the road trying to get to each destination and you never know when that one less smart person won't be paying attention when they are driving and there you are dead because of an accident that wasn't even your fault. Those are some of the reasons I believe being a firefighter would be a dangerous job.

Vanessa M. said...

There are many dangerous jobs today. i think being a police man, firefighter, or being in the military are all very dangerous jobs because in all of those jobs, anybody could get severely hurt or even die. The cool thing though is that everyone who is some what apart of those jobs, are protecting the people they love and also protecting their nation. They all know what could happen to them, but they still choose to be apart of it.

I believe the most dangerous job today is serving in any of the armed forces. However, i think the most dangerous would be the Air Force. First of all, any military job is dangerous. In the Army, you could be shot or been killed by a bomb or any other number of hazards. In the Navy, your ship could sink. but the reason i think the Air Force is the most dangerous is simply because that you are flying a plane and may be being shot at at the same time. Also, any weather or equipment malfunctions could cause a crash.

I believe the most dangerous job in the world today is the Special Forces in the military. They have constant fatal pressure on their shoulders. They could easily be captured and tortured to death. The thought of that is scary but yet you have to fight fearless to win the battle.

I think one of the most dangerous jobs today is being a police officer because, they risk their lives everyday to help make the community a better and safer place. They have to deal with people who break the law, have guns, steal things, people who do drugs, they have to chase people down, and have to arrest lots of people. I think it would be really tough and hard to arrest people especially if they are teenagers. But it's their job to help us all and keep us safe.

Kayla G. said...

I think the most dangerous jobs today is being in the military. I think this is the most dangerous because these people who are apart of the military risk their lives practically everyday. They are fighting for their country and the people living in it. They are in danger whenever they are deployed. In conclusion, I think the most dangerous job now is being in the military.

I think the most dangerous job would be working in a nuclear power plant. If anything goes wrong, there could be a huge explosion. Also, the explosion could kill millions of people and wildlife.

Lindsey S. said...

I think some of the most dangerous jobs today are any in the protective services such as police officers, the highway patrol and fire fighters. I think this because the men and women in those services never know what to except. They can never know for sure how someone they are trying to help or chasing down is going to react. These people can be seriously injured or die while on their job.

Marissa Z. said...

I think the most dangerous job now days(regardless of age) is serving in the military. I think this because it would be hard emotionally and physically. It would be hard emotionally because they have to be away from their family for so long, and they never know if they will be able to live just one more day longer while at war. It would be hard physically because they have to carry around a lot supplies and they are constantly on the move either mentally of physically.

Caitlyn K said...

I think the most dangerous job nowadays would be to be a police officer. I think this because they protect their country willingly and would risk their lives doing so. Any time they're in a high speed chase or dealing with people on drugs, are drunk, or have weapons, they alwas have the possibility of getting severely hurt or killed.

Madeline C. said...

I think that the most dangerous job today, regardless of age is working in the FBI, or CSI. I believe this because these people are risking their lives to stop serial killers, and "bad guys" to protect people like us. They chase criminals so we can live the safe life we do. They risk being shot, stabbed, or killed in anyway. So that is why I think this is a very dangerous job to have.

I think that the most dangerous job nowadays is to fight in the military. I think this because you are risking your life everyday. You could be attacked, shot or bombed at anytime! Serving in the military can also lead to depression, and violence after your time is served. All these factors contribute to why i think that the most dangerous job someone could have no matter your age is serving in the military.

Seth H. said...

I think the most dangerous job today is being on the bomb squad. Being on the bomb squad puts a lot of responsibility in one person's hands. Your actions could result in a catastrophic disaster.

I believe that the most dangerous profession as of today would have to be an infantry soldiering job. This may not be the most original answer, but if you think about it, it is by far the most obvious. First of all, if you go somewhere and shoot people all the time, you can’t expect that nobody is going to try to shoot you back. Bullets happen to be very dangerous objects. Secondly, as opposed to a police officer or fireman that sometimes get to have a break with a nice warm donut, or a mild case of “I accidentally put a fork in the microwave and got really freaked out”, for an military employee it’s pretty much all bombs and screaming and people without limbs dying in the street. The infantry don’t even get a fancy plane or a boat to hide in. So in conclusion, no matter what reason they may have, if someone’s job is to walk around and kill/severely wound people then there will probably be a large probability of the same fate befalling the person in question. This is why I think an infantry soldier has the current most dangerous job.

I think the most dangerous job today is being a pilot. The reason I think this is because there is all kind of dangers to flying a plane and you have to have the right training. There could be wind shears that make you dive down and crash or a malfuction. This is why i think it is one of the most dangerous.

I think the most dangerous job of this time is being in the army/navy. I think this because when you are out in the field its your job to fight so you could end up losing an eye, leg, arm, or even worse, your life. You are taking that risk every day and it happens to a lot of people who are out in the field.

Ian C. said...

I think the most dangerous jobs would be in the army because you could be seriously injured by a bullet or and ied. You can also die. Another job that is dangerous would be a construction worker. This is dangerous because anvils or heavy things can fall on you.

I think the most dangerous job today is being a taxi driver because they drive strangers around and follow random people's orders on a daily basis. Taxi drivers don't make enough money considering all of the dangers they face. On average, taxi drivers only make $25,000 a year and out of every 100,000 drivers, 21 will have a work related death.

i think the most dangerous job today is mining. mining is dangerous because the shaft could collapse on top of you and you could die. you could get stuck with out food or water, something could explode, anyway you look at it you die.

Mariel C. said...

To me, the most dangerous job there is today is being a Police officer. Every day the brave men and women in the police force risk their lives for the safety of the public. These people have to go to places they don’t know and face potentially life threatening people they don’t know anything about just to make the world a better place. Like the pony express, being a police officer is one of the most noble and hardest jobs I can even imagine, and that’s why I believe being a police officer is the most dangerous jobs.

I think that the most dangerous job you could do today, regardless of age, would be serving the military, army, navy, etc. This is because they are risking their lives for us. They always have the risk of being shot or killed from a bombing while they are fighting for our country.

I think the most dangerous job is working in the military. If you are in the military you could die at any moment. you might not ever see your family again. Alot of people die each day who are in the military. Military is diffinatly a dangerous job.

I think that the most dangerous job no matter how old you are is to be a miner. Caves can collapse and you can be trapped for days, or never escape.

Carlisa M. said...

I think that the most dangerous job today, would be serving in any type of military, navy, or armed forces. I think this is the most dangerous job because you're risking your life everyday, not knowing when you might lose it. You also have to worry about family members across seas worrying about your safety and health while you're serving. You never know when an enemy might come and try to attack your base, so you always have to keep an eye out.

I think that the most dangerous job is serving in the military or being an astronaut military because you are risking your life for your country because bad guys are shooting at you. Astronaut because in on small mistake by you our someone in your rocket means the end of all your lives.

Today i think the most dangerous jobs have to do with Law enforcement and the military. I think they are the most dangerous ones because the people that serve in those forces go out and sacrifice their lives almost everyday.

I think that the most dangerous job would be working in a Uranium enrichment plant, because of the radiation and toxic material you would have to handle. Also, if the Uranium enrichment plant had a explosion, or accident you would be for-surly dead.

The job I believe to be most dangerous now is structural iron and steel workers. First, these people are exposed to harmful substances caused by the steel. Second, many deaths are caused by the contact with heavy machinery and parts. That is the job I believe as very dangerous now in society.

I think the most dangerous job today
would to be to be in the military because you go to a foreign country and fight with people and if you mes up you die

Ashlyn O. said...

I think the most dangerous job today would have to be fishing in the bering sea. I say this because of the TV show "Dealiest Catch," rough waters, extreme weather conditions, and heavy equipment can make this job very hazardous. About 2% of the 100,000 workers die a year from this job.

Brayden P. said...

I think that the military would probably be the hardest, most dangerous, and most scary. My best friend Taylor's older brother just got finished with basic training camp, and he will be heading to AIT soon to learn his job at being a soldier that calls in airstrikes. If he were to miss his mark and give the wrong coordinates, he could kill everyone in his unit. Plus just being a regular ground troop, you would be put in danger everyday just by being in a hostile nation. I think that pretty much sums up that the military is a very dangerous job.

Molly M said...

I think the most dangerous job regardless of age is to be in the Military. Its so dangerous because now,Terrorists are more deadly because they have access to bombs and because there are many ways to make a homemade bomb or a secret bomb. People are so determined to kill the soldiers they are willing to make a suicied attack. They will think of any possible way to kill you and then go for it. Thats why its so dangerous

Dallas V. said...

i think the most important job today is mining. the reason for this is that people can get trapped underground and can face life or death situations.

Jacob G said...

I believe that the most dangerous job of today is in joining the army, marines, navy, etc. I think that because they are sent out into war and rescue missions, risking their lives every day for that of their country's. Out there, the unexpected always happens, and several people die in the process.
